In an area surrounded by mountains in all directions, in an uneven area, with widely dispersed vineyards, they even seem somewhat irrelevant when compared to other areas.

These mountains determine and condition the climate of the area, being of continental as well as maritime influence, and thus extremely specific to its conditions.

The white varieties include Encruzado, among several others.

The red varieties are Touriga Nacional, tinta roriz as well as others less common or known as Baga or Bastardo.
