Description
Kaputt is a great white wine from the Douro region, produced at Barão de Vilar under the guidance of winemaker Álvaro van Zeller.
It is a white wine made from old vineyards with several white grape varieties, some of them very rare, such as Dona Branca. After fermentation in new and used barrels, it aged for about six years in used barrels, two years in tanks, and before its release, 19 months in bottles.
The name Kaputt originated as a response to the recurring question every year: “So, the special white wine?” The answer was, “It’s almost there!” Soon after, a frustrated remark was heard: “The darn wine is KAPUTT again!”
Kaputt is a range of wines produced in small quantities, reflecting “peculiar” experiences. It is a blend of wines from various vintages, resulting in a LIMITED EDITION of 2200 bottles.
