Description
Quinta de S. José is a family project that began in the early 1999, driven by the determination of João Brito e Cunha’s father, Ruy Brito e Cunha. This was due to the exceptional location of the estate’s houses, practically right by the river and on unique slopes with specific soil characteristics. The excellent terroir consists of bluish-gray schist with traces of tin, a result of former Tin Mines that existed many years ago in a higher area of the estate. This contributes to a profile of wines that are highly distinct, fresh, mineral, and profound.
Winemaker João Brito e Cunha chooses to vinify this white wine in tanks, with a maturation period of 6 months in contact with the lees.
