Description
Total destemming. 9 days of fermentation at 20-22ºC. 10 days of maceration. Aged for 22 months in new and 2nd-year barrels of French and Portuguese oak. Deep ruby color. Great complexity and aromatic freshness, with unusual (but typical of the Abandonado vineyard) balsamic and tar notes, licorice, and black fruits. The palate is harmonious, with intensity but also delicacy, minerality, and an extraordinary purity of fruit. One can sense the schist soils, the surrounding forest, and the freshness of the altitude, in a pure expression of the vineyard’s nature. An exercise in pure elegance and class from one of the most iconic vineyards in the Douro and Portugal. Contains sulfites.
